Trojan Win32/Fakeinit, or “Security Essentials 2010″ is a fake Antivirus program that infects your computer with Spyware. The program may also flag other processes as a security risk on your computer. Security Essentials 2010 mimics Microsoft Security Essentials, legitamate antivirus software in the way that it scans your computer. Also, another red flag is that the software asks you to purchase it in order to remove the “threats” off your machine, when really, the threat is the program itself.
If you have this trojan on your computer and cannot remove it, or don’t feel comfortable messing with it, feel free to contact us.

IMHO, one of the reasons businesses are not eager to switch from XP to Windows 7, or more specifically, a 64-bit OS is the lack of support with CISCO VPN Client. 32-bit OS? Works fine. 64-bit? No such luck (at least not with Windows 7). There are some forum posts on the net stating some users have been able to get it to work, but I still have had no success following any of their step-by-step instructions. There has to be a way for Cisco & Microsoft to work together on this to solve the problem.

I was on a conference call at work today. When I was done, I checked my Voice Mail (click to listen) and received what I thought was a phishing attempt to get my credit card information. The number this automated system left was 800-355-5265, stating it was Chase Bank’s Debit Card Security Department. I did some research on the internet and found that a lot of other people have received the same voice mail. I called the number on the back of my debit card, and asked them about this 800 number, and was told it WAS NOT their fraud department number.
Let me clear a few things up. Chase Bank’s Fraud number is (800)978-8664. Their AUTOMATED system is (800)355-5265, however a Chase Telephone banker does not know that, which is why they told me it was a false number. To make sure, I called the fraud department and asked about the 355 number, and they told me it was in fact theirs.
So, in conclusion, the telephone banker told me it was a false number, while in reality it is legit.
You will receive a call from (800)355-5265 if:
1.) You try making an out of the country purchase
2.) There are any fraudulent-type charges on your card
3.) An online purchase that does not go through due to insufficient funds
Hope this helps!

I just noticed Microsoft came out with a Facebook application called “Fishbowl for Facebook” (www.fishbowlclient.com) and it seemed really interesting. It reminds me of Tweetdeck for Twitter.
Basically, it’s Facebook scaled down without the ads, inside of a pleasant GUI. After install, it asks you to login to facebook so it can set its permissions, etc. Here is a screen shot:

Some things I don’t like about it so far:
The fact that any application that you have set permissions for while logged into Facebook via the browser, requires you to continuously log in via Fishbowl in order for it to work.
There is an option to open up external content in it’s own browser, but doesn’t that defeat the purpose of Fishbowl?
If you try to click-and-drag some items (try it on profile photo’s or user icons) it crashes the program. At least it does that in XP Pro… haven’t tested it out in any other OS yet.

Just found out that the Pirate Bay’s tracker has been shut down for good. Where is everyone going to get their illegal music, movies and software now?! I’m betting on a spike in traffic through Limewire or Bearshare, which just means more spyware, resulting in more computers for me to fix.
